#15 flyball Aussie in NAFA standings with 28,731 points
2002 USDAA Grand Prix World Championships Semi-finalist

Red merle female (spayed), OFA-moderate uni-lateral dysplasia.

Joy was a cuddly, very people oriented red merle puppy.  Now she's a screaming, athletic machine!  We met Dick and Lynda Oleksuk over the internet when we had Skye's litter.  Dick and Lynda made their way from VA to NE to pick up Joy and Lynda tells me she remembers the first time she saw Joy and she thought "it's PINK...I'm getting a damn PINK dog!"   Thank goodness for them both that she didn't let that deter her as Joy has given Lynda a great appreciation for the Australian Shepherd breed.

Lynda has done a fabulous job with Joy, working her in agility, obedience, flyball, tracking, herding and even weight pulling.  I always laugh when I listen to Lynda and Dick fighting over who gets to run Joy in flyball!  Joy has the most amazing intelligence and personality.  While she does a fine job in agility and flyball,  her personality is what really shines when you're around her.  Joy knows no strangers and she's a retrieving fool.  In the house, Lynda and Dick rarely have to get up for anything once they've settled onto the couch for an evening of TV.  Need the remote?  Joy'll get it!  Need a kleenex, Joy'll get it!  If Lynda and Dick are in the opposite ends of the house, no need for an intercom, Joy will hand (mouth) deliver a note and return with a reply.  She's an amazing dog!

Joy is very much like her mother Skye...she possesses the same heart and inner strength and an amazing desire to work as a team, in a partnership, no matter what the task!

In 2000, I made a trip to VA where I spent the week with Lynda and Dick and we've found several other opportunities to hang out, including the ASCA Nationals in GA and a trip to Iowa that Dick and Lynda made so they could run an all Roanoak dog flyball team with Joe Acker from Iowa.  What a great time that was and a wonderful sense of pride for us to watch those four dogs run!  Thank you guys!
